Situation Analysis of Rajpur Rural Municipality

Situation Analysis was conducted in three wards (1,2 and 3) of Rajpur Rural Municipality. Rajpur  Rural  Municipality was selected as proposed program area since it has low literacy rate,  low well-being ranking, high probability of disaster, high population of marginalized and underpriviledged groups as compared to other adjoining Rural Municipalities of Deukhuri Valley of Dang District.Our target area comprises of ward no. 1,2 and 3 of Rajpur Rural Municipality including approximately 2706 households of demographically diverse community including marginalized, underpriviledged, disadvantaged and ethnic groups like Yadav,  Dalits, Tharu and Muslims.

To collect data for Situation Analysis, HWEPC formed and mobilized a team of four members in the target area from 26^th of February to 3^rd March 2024.The field staffs adopted following Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools to ensure public participation and reliability of the data and information collected in the field.

Altogether, there were nine Focus Group Discussions held in different locations of ward no 1,2 and 3 of Rajpur Rural Municipality in order to identify the core issues from demographically diverse groups.HWEPC conducted five Key Informants’ Interviews with the key informants of different sectors like women,education, local government, trade and commerce who provided detailed information and opinions on the subject matter related to their field of engagement and expertise.
