About Us

Human Welfare & Environment Protection Centre

Welcome to the official website of the Human Welfare and Environment Protection Center (HWEPC).

Since our establishment in 1991, HWEPC has been unwavering in its commitment to fostering a self-reliant society enriched with social, economic, educational, and environmental prosperity. Guided by our vision—"To establish a self-reliant society enriched with social, economic, educational, and environmental prosperity"—we aim to empower communities, promote sustainable development, and integrate climate resilience, gender equality, and good governance into all aspects of our work.

Over the years, HWEPC has achieved remarkable milestones, from designing and implementing impactful projects to building the capacity of individuals and communities across the Lumbini Province and beyond. Our efforts have been recognized nationally and internationally, including being honored with the National Environmental Award (1998) by the Ministry of Population and Environment, Nepal, and institutional membership in IUCN - The World Conservation Union (1999). These accolades are a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team and the trust of our stakeholders.

HWEPC is proud to work with a wide network of partners, including USAID, UNDP, CARE Nepal, and many others, to address the critical challenges faced by communities in the Midwestern region of Nepal. Together, we strive to promote social cohesion, economic empowerment, environmental conservation, and educational advancement while ensuring inclusivity and resilience.

Through this platform, we invite you to explore our programs, initiatives, and achievements. Learn more about our policies and guidelines, which ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in all we do. Join us in our journey to create a society that is resilient, inclusive, and sustainably connected to its natural environment.

Thank you for your continued support and interest in HWEPC. Together, let us work towards a brighter and more sustainable future.
